Ayurvedic Cleanse/Digestive Reset Retreat

Windemere Wellness is announcing our signature cleanse process which is adjusted for each season: winter, spring and fall. We have drawn from multiple resources and examples of Ayurvedic cleanses and wrapped key important aspects into a process unique to Windemere Wellness. We humbly give credit to all of our Ayurveda teachers and organizations who have inspired us to create and offer this signature cleanse.
Our 2024 Spring cleanse will be held at Windemere Garden View Suite in Decorah, Iowa, April 3-8, 2024. We have room for 3 people to stay on site. Others may stay off-site and participate fully by attending the first evening from 5-9pm on April 3, 8am-7pm each day April 4-7, and 8am-11am on April 8.
There are multiple benefits of our cleanse/detox process. Our cleanse/digestive reset has been designed to rejuvenate one's mind, body, and spirit. Retreat Logistics:
Our Spring cleanse retreat will be held April 3-8, 2024 at Windemere Garden View Retreat, 2229 Pole Line Rd. Decorah, IA 52101
The total cost of the retreat is $1250 if staying on-site or $850 if staying off-site. The cost of the retreat includes group facilitation, lodging, food, teas, and daily kitchari including the option of assorted vegetables with important flavorful spices designed to support and enhance digestion. Personal supplies, all herbal supplements, oils, and specialty food preferences will be identified during your pre-retreat consultation with Barbara and will be ordered and paid for separately by the participant. In residence participants will supply personal toiletries. Those staying off-site will make their own lodging arrangements and participate on-site for a full experience.
Arrival will be 3:00 pm on Wednesday, April 3 and departure will be 11:00 am on Monday, April 8, 2024. Please plan to stay until 11 am on Monday. Do not plan to leave early. There is still important content and process being shared on Monday morning.
Participants will be guided to prepare for the retreat two weeks in advance and will begin taking select herbs and gradually eliminating meat, sugar, alcohol, gluten, most dairy, and caffeine. Participants will purchase their own pre-retreat herbs and oils and will be provided a shopping list to assist with purchases.
Participants will be provided with overall guidance for easing back into daily life after the retreat, including suggestions for food and herbs and self-care practices.
Our daily process:
Begin at 6:00 AM with taking herbs, tea, doing daily self-massage with oils, taking morning ghee, and personal reflection. Our communal gathering will be at 8am each day, April 4-8.
During the four retreat days the morning will be spent: preparing the noon digestive reset food; yoga which includes guided Chi LeL Qi Gong, pranayama, chanting, meditation, personal reflection and journaling; and a sharing circle.
Noon will be enjoying sharing a meal of kitchari and vegetables, taking your herbs, a solitary walk, and rest. Tea is taken throughout the day.
Afternoons will be spent doing Shiro Abhyanga Nasya (SAN) guided by Barbara.
Early evening will be spent with evening food preparation; taking your herbs; sharing a meal together; a solitary walk; and private reflection time before sleep. Social time in the evening is individually optional, while holding the intention and the benefits of time spent in deep inner reflection throughout the retreat.
Nearing bedtime you will prepare for sleep with evening herbs, private pranayama and meditation, and personal journaling.
On Sunday evening April 7, a specific processes will be followed to flush your body of toxins which have been mobilized and released by the cleanse process.
Monday morning we will assess any personal needs for assuring the final flush; discussion about post retreat foods and practices; and a closing circle. Please plan to stay until 11:00 am on the final day to complete this phase of our process together.
